Tokyo Film Camera Workshop – Capture the City Through Vintage Lenses

See Tokyo Through Film — Not Just as a Visitor, but as a Photographer

In this small-group analog experience (max 3 guests), you’ll slow down, explore hidden streets, and capture the city using legendary cameras like the Nikon F2, Canon F-1, Minolta SRT-101, or a Contax with Carl Zeiss lens. With only 26 shots on film, every moment becomes intentional — turning a simple walk into a lasting memory.

A Different Way to Experience Tokyo

This is not a typical sightseeing tour and not a technical photography workshop.

Instead, it’s a calm and immersive experience designed to change how you see the city. Using real film photography naturally slows the pace, encouraging observation, patience, and awareness of light, space, and everyday details often missed while traveling.

As we walk through both iconic areas and quieter hidden streets, Tokyo begins to reveal itself differently — not through speed, but through attention.

No photography experience is required. Curiosity is enough.

📷 Choose Your Vintage Camera

At the beginning of the experience, you’ll select your camera for the day from a curated collection of classic film cameras, including:

  • Nikon F2
  • Canon F-1
  • Minolta SRT-101
  • Contax with Carl Zeiss lens

Each camera has its own character, sound, and way of seeing the world, becoming your creative companion during the walk.

🌿 Learn by Experiencing

Rather than technical lectures, you’ll learn naturally through doing:

  • How to shoot film intuitively
  • Understanding light without complicated settings
  • Framing meaningful moments instead of chasing perfect photos
  • Slowing down and photographing with intention

Your host acts less as an instructor and more as a guide to seeing — offering gentle prompts while leaving space for personal discovery.

Moments of silence and observation are an important part of the experience.

🎞 Film Options After the Walk

Film is included with your experience.

After shooting, you may choose how your photographs continue their journey:

Option 1 — Take Your Film Home (included)
Bring your film back with you and develop it anywhere in the world.

Option 2 — Professional Development & Digital Scans (+$30)
Your film will be professionally developed and scanned, with high-resolution images delivered digitally a few days later — allowing you to rediscover Tokyo through your own photographs.

Many guests find receiving the images later becomes a second experience, bringing the memories back unexpectedly.

🗺 The Walk

We explore a balance of well-known Tokyo scenery and quieter locations most travelers never notice. The pace is relaxed, allowing time to observe, experiment, and simply enjoy the act of seeing.

Small groups (maximum 3 guests) ensure a personal and unhurried atmosphere.
